We started coaching with Onkar Sir for our elder son Nishant when he was 11 years old and he was unrated. He improved Nishant's middlegame skills by giving him a lot of puzzles to solve. This really helped Nishant elevate his understanding of the game. Now, he has a rating of 1900+ FIDE. He really put in the hard work to make the middlegame concepts crystal clear for Nishant as he still remembers those well and applies it in his practice from time to time. As we were very happy with Nishant's progress, we started Sir's coaching for our younger son Anish, 7 years old. As Sir is also a yoga practitioner, his calm nature and patient listening helped both of our kids in improving their psychology. Overall, we are very much satisfied and looking forward to a long-term association 😀😊
My Son Vyom started his Chess journey with Onkar when Vyom was in 4th standard, and since then there was no looking back. Onkar developed wonderful connection with him. Over time, this bond grew even stronger. Onkar has a unique way of teaching — he connected deeply with children, got on their level, and created an open and friendly environment for them. This made Vyom eagerly look forward to his chess classes. This was before the lockdown, a time when the concept of online classes was non-existent for them. Despite this, Vyom was always extremely enthusiastic about attending Onkar’s classes. Beyond chess, Vyom shared a lot with Onkar. Onkar’s words and actions had a significant positive influence on Vyom. Whatever Onkar said, Vyom listened like an obedient and thoughtful child. He slept peacefully, and his earlier stubborn and irritable nature began to change. He became calmer, more reflective, and understanding. His concentration improved immensely. Even with minimal schoolwork, his academic performance remained strong.
